Good Friday
When we went to bed last night, we thought we were going to spend most of this Holy Day in the service to others. We received a text that moving everything back into our renovated church has been postponed until Saturday. That freed up hubby. I planned to help my sister pick, clean and freeze kale. Somehow, her hubby finished with his early commitment and wanted to help with the kale. That freed me up. After breakfast, we enjoyed the beautiful spring weather. I trimmed bushes; hubby weed whacked the edges of our property and gathered all the sticks I cut. I snapped pics of our fragrant lilacs. Their pleasant aroma hits you when you open the garage door. We showered and went to church to participate in walking the Stations of the Cross that were placed around the perimeter of our old cemetery. As you can see in the middle frame, we had a wonderful crowd of participants. This large crucifix is at the edge of our newer cemetery. From there, we went to Kim’s and fed/visited with the pets. We were very hungry so we stopped for lunch before going grocery shopping. I picked up all my WV groceries except produce and bread. Will get them tomorrow afternoon. Hubby packed his SUV for MerleFest. I fed the birds, watered my new plants and washed a load of laundry. Hoping to get a nap in before time to go to the 7:00 Good Friday service. I decided to add an extra to record my Mother’s day. These are Abi’s photos. Abi picked her up at 11:30. First stop was at a salon for a manicure and pedicure (compliments of Parker.). I think this is only her second in 96 years. Jamie’s girls took her dress shopping and for a manicure/pedi before my father’s funeral to comfort her. Abi and Momma went to Panera for lunch. Abi then took her to see her new great-great grandchildren and Lauren. This is her first visit with Luna. What a perfect day they gave her for Easter. So proud of them. Wishing you a calm evening. Stay safe. Thanks for dropping by. “This Good Friday, let us all take a moment and thank God for all the love he always bestows upon us. He made a great sacrifice on this day.” - ndtv.com
