Easter Saturday: Distant Mountains

A very wet start to the day, we had breakfast then went for a quick shop at Lidl. Lots of bedding plants near the entrance, I was tempted by some pale blue Lobelia erinus which I’ll use with other plants in mixed pots … when the weather improves. Checking on my electronic receipts the lobelia had cost me nothing because I had a £5 electronic voucher :-)

On the way home I noticed that the mountains appeared to be in layers, we stopped at Llanddyfnan church to take a photo but the effect is not so obvious from there.

We have been feeding the birds sunflower hearts since the beginning of December, the last bag of seeds is finished so I’m reducing the feeders down to one until the last of the seed has been used up - there’s plenty of natural food around now.

This afternoon a Sparrowhawk - https://www.wildlondon.org.uk/wildlife-explorer/birds/birds-prey/sparrowhawk - caught and killed one of the collared doves, then proceeded to pluck all its feathers and eat it under the hedge near the pear tree, Mr. Blackbird was nearby and hopping mad!! I thought it must have been Priscilla pigeon - https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/3354571609510776004 - or one of the “family” but the 3 of them were on the garage roof looking at me as I prepared tea this evening :-)

“The Good Liar” - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Good_Liar - was this evening’s film starring Helen Mirren and what a film … nothing is what it seems to be, just one surprise after another …!

Late evening and I’m watching series 2 of “Our Welsh Chapel Dream” on Channel 4

Happy Easter everyone :-)
