Six of us went to Stanage Edge to climb today, with Fi picking me up, two cars and two PDNP parking permits** between us.
I seconded Fi on a route - VD - that I've previously lead 5 times, but I couldn't do it... didn't want to do it, so why did I try? After that I had a lovely day watching everyone and taking loads of pictures!
The closer I get to Thursday's appointment, the more worried I get. Perhaps it wasn't a migraine, perhaps it was a TIA, there's a family history of both and I have risk factors for stroke. I know there's no point in worrying, but it doesn't stop me.
**the price of the permit allowing parking in PDNP carparks has just almost doubled from £40 per year to £78 which seems a big increase. At £40 it was worth me buying one, but at £78 it's probably not, when you consider that a lot of the carparks are NT and a lot of my Rambler's walks begin from their carparks. From a climbing point of view the permit is only any use at Stanage, Burbage and Surprise View. I wonder why the PDNP pitched the permit price at £78? They may end up losing money.
