A visit to the bluebells
I had invited Margret to come here for lunch today. First I drove her to Wark to see the daffodils that line the riverside. Some have finished, but there is still a good show.
There was an unexpected miniBlipmeet! Mike Slade and his wife, Fiona, were walking by the river so we stopped to chat. See extra.
I drive as near as I could to the bluebell woods. Margret managed a short walk and was able to glimpse them from the roadside.
I steamed salmon and served it with salad because I know that Margret likes it. She also had stewed apple and custard for dessert.
After a cup of coffee I took her back to Corbridge and straight into bed for an afternoon nap.
I now know it is possible to bring Margret here successfully. Having the stairlift and some other aids in situ is a huge help.
Margret was a great walker so visits like today’s are inevitably bittersweet.
Something very odd is happening with the uploader today. My image is on its side! Now it is vertical but looks almost pixelated! I’ve changed the image. It’s a mystery!
