THANKFUL TUESDAY
Mr. HCB and I were due to have our hair cut by the lovely Fran today at 9.15 and realised that the schools were back, so it may take a bit longer to get up into Old Town. In the event, we got up there in record time, and in fact, the queues were horrendous going out of town!
Fran did a great job on Mr. HCB’s hair, then he went round to Jack’s to wait for me to save him having to wait in the salon. I was equally pleased with my hair and you can see Fran “doing her stuff”! We have one more appointment in June before she goes off on maternity leave, so are hoping that her little one doesn’t decide to come early! Very selfish, I know, but as I told her, the people you don’t want to lose are your hairdresser, doctor, dentist and optician - and she agreed.
I took a few more shots in the salon, and liked the pink BED HEAD, AFTER PARTY Super Smoothing cream, which I do actually use - but just wish I was feeling fit enough to even go to a party! But, that said, I am getting there and feeling better each day - I’m not doing too much housework and now I have some good books to read, am happy to sit in the conservatory and read, where it is warm, while Mr. HCB does a jigsaw.
After having my hair cut, I trundled round to Jack’s and found Mr. HCB. I just took photographs of the cakes - and promise I didn’t have any - in fact, if you look closely, you can see Aimee looking at me from behind them, but one day, I’m going to treat myself to a slice of that Coffee and Walnut Cake!
We then went to do some grocery shopping at Morrisons, which is just down the road from where we live and then back home to have lunch. There is still some of the homemade soup left, so I enjoyed a bowl of that with a couple of slices of Cranberry and Pumpkin bread, whilst Mr. HCB had some Olive bread, freshly baked at Morrisons and delicious it was too.
I had seen the Great Tits going in and out of the bird box, so put one of our chairs outside the conservatory and sat patiently to see if I could get a decent shot - and my soup got cold whilst I did that. This was the best shot I could get, but next time, I will set up my tripod, which will make things easier.
So that was my day so far - I am thankful that we have had our haircut, we had a coffee at Jack’s and I managed to get a shot of our Great Tit - not terribly exciting, but enough for me to be thankful for. I am going to try and resist sleeping this afternoon - in fact, I’m going to read some more of my book, “The Women”.
