Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Archie and I popped in to the surgery to sort out a wee problem for a friend. Didn't solve it. Plenty of time to consider options.

It was such a lovely sunny morning, warm-ish, and so we went across the road and round the graveyard too.

I emailed a local blacksmith and got the reply I wanted - yes, he can fashion a new gate hinge, bring the old one. £30. Great! (Who needs Amazon and B&Q?)  I'll pop down with it this week. We might be able to get the gate up in time for warm spring weather. Not that I think Archie would rush out the gate. Unless Elizabeth walked by...

JR wanted to get her beads sorted, she hasn't been able to get the thread through a couple of them. So we all went down to the bead shop. And Archie got a treat. From there we all walked to a local shop that sells everything, for JR had noticed that they sell window washing poles. So she dived in to the shop, Archie and I waited outside, she emerged with the pole, I took it with me on the bus home, and the others had a big walk round the Meadows.

My knee has been a bit more sore than usual today, but I did manage 5,220 steps, so when I got home I rested on the sofa. And dozed.

JR made delicious chicken and sweetcorn soup for tea. Yum yum.

At a certain time of night, if it's sunny, we get a reflection from the windows opposite. Nice.
