Day of Cakes
All that remains of the rhubarb crumble!
We had a garden volunteers’ outing this morning, which constituted a group walk along the coastline of Chichester Harbour, ending with tea and cakes at Tuppenny Barn.
The group consisted of volunteers from across all days of the week so I got to meet some new faces as well as those I see each Tuesday morning in the volunteer group which I’m in.
It was a lovely opportunity to chat and get to know each other and to experience the coastline which was looking beautiful in the sunshine. On our ramble we saw and heard many birds including a Cetti’s warbler - a first for me.
The cakes on offer today (all made by people in the group) were particularly delicious so we cut them into small pieces so we could sample each of them. My favourite was a date and fennel cake - another one to try to recreate at home!
