Bath Abbey

A long day on the train to Bath.
I had my seat on the train to Bristol but it only had 4 carriages which always means that it’s rammed with lots of people trying to find vacant seats. It arrived late into Temple Meads so my 10 minute window to find my train to Bath didn’t exist. Two flights of steps down and under the station and then two flights up to establish I’d missed it and then back down and under and up again to platform 13 to get the later London train which has it’s first stop in Bath.

Grace met me but our original plan to have a drink in town before she had an appointment went out of the window as my delay and the terrible traffic getting to the car park meant there wasn’t enough time. No matter we sat in the sun beside the Abbey here listening to the music and then I had a wander and met her back here later. There is always music being played here and also in front of the Abbey but the adjacent buildings of the Roman Baths prevent the sounds from clashing.

Just read bedtime stories to both the girls and now feel pretty tired. Grace has gone to a meeting for musical ‘The Adam’s Family’ which Bath amateurs are  putting in later in the year. She won’t be going for a main part as she’s already involved in Les Mis in Bristol thus summer.
