Flower Friday at Alnwick Garden
We'd heard that the blossom on the Tai Haku cherry trees at Alnwick Garden is out at the moment, and as there's an amazing 329 trees there it's worth seeing. So we decided to have a daytrip, especially as it's Flower Friday (with thanks to BikerBear Anni of course). In the end this bee stole pole position in my blip on a different flower, but the first 4 extras show the blossom in different ways. It's interesting as the individual petals are white, as seen in the first extra, but from a distance they have a pink tinge - presumably from the pink centre of each flower.
The second extra is my attempt at producing an impressionistic effect using in-camera multiple exposures (my Editor didn't know she was being photographed at the time!). The third is a fisheye photo of the orchard with a daffodil bank in the foreground. After that is a "standard" photo of the trees, and the final extra was taken at one of the water features in the garden - I like the effect of a little red creature with googly eyes!
