Croeso?
We spent most of today driving from Penicuik to our holiday cottage in North Wales. The drive took longer because we had to stop for lunch and give Django a walk, and then there was a long hold-up on the M6. Finally we stopped in Bala for A and daughter K to shop for groceries while I walked Django. This was his first time in Wales, and he wasn't impressed when he saw this sign.
Our cottage is just out of shot below the big house at the top left in the extra, across the Glaslyn estuary from Porthmadog
After we arrived, we resolved the twin issues of walking Django and getting a meal by me walking him across the causeway while A and K drove to Portmadog. I was surprised to see a white egret on the salt marshes. The Ffestiniog valley - particularly the railway - was a major feature of my boyhood, and it's exciting to be back again after reconnecting with the area two years ago, and this time sharing it with the rest of the family.
