Recycle, Restore and Repurpose

We had a storm before dawn and it rained most of the morning. We ate breakfast and started our day. My sister and BIL were given an old bench by the neighbor. They removed the back and it will become the top part of their deck steps railing. My BIL sanded and painted it black. My sister gave it a verd de gris look. They are such creative souls. They found an old dinner bell and have painted it similarly. It will go on a tall end post for the steps. I ordered memorial bell wind chimes for our German friends who both lost their moms recently. We had no idea we could send a gift to Germany directly from Amazon. We are such out of touch old codgers. We both brought too many bananas to WV. While they were painting, I made our neighbor pumpkin banana bread. We will give it to her for Easter with jelly beans, her fave Easter candy. I had two box mixes so I added craisins, carrots and pecans to make bread for us. I made four muffins with the extra batter. My sister and I shared one, oh my. We will make them again. We ate a late lunch and then headed to town. My sister and BIL got hair cuts while I was at Mass. The church was decorated beautifully for Easter. The stylist told them about a nearby Mexican restaurant. We decided to try it. They had many unique Mexican dishes and everything was delicious. We stopped at the grocery store and are heading back to the farm. Hubby is seeing so many great music artists. Hope your Saturday was as nice as ours. Stay safe. Thanks for your visit. “Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes, and having fun.” - Mary Lou Cook
