Gently down the stream

Out to lunch

Today I walked rather later than usual to allow Hazel to be walked first.  So then I decided to go after the orange tips again and try for a male in-flight - but, would you believe it, despite the glorious sunshine I saw about two flying fast on the wrong side of the canal.  The rest, I fear, were out to lunch!

So instead I went to look at the long-tailed tits I'd watched nest-building earlier in the spring and can report they now have chicks - woo hoo!!  Here's a parent bird with a great beakful of lunch for them and in extras you can see one being fed and a second beak muscling in (well you can see just about, I'm not pretending they're great shots, but I was thrilled to see the babies).

And as you don't really want to know my domestic agenda and I've had no time to either garden or read, that's about it for my day.  Hope yours has been brilliant  xx
