Reed Buntings
Today I went down early to the pond in the reserve to see what was about. The answer was reed buntings so here is another (much closer) shot of the male and in extras a rather sweet and funny little female.
The weather has been glorious and birds, animals and humans alike all seem to be enjoying it. When I took Hazel for her walk later we went along to the (other) pond on the marshes where I saw a pair of greylags, possibly the same ones I blipped the other day, and a pair of egrets. This made me realise I haven't seen egrets in pairs before. You can't get close to that pond so I can't be sure but they looked absolutely enormous. I'm even wondering if they could have been Great White Egrets. I guess it's possible but I'll never know - unless I can somehow get closer.
As for the rest of the day, I honestly don't know where it's gone. I keep looking out at the garden and just wanting to lie in the sun.
Have a good one, y'all xx
