Not Long For This World
There was a pick-up for The Larder this morning and then we had to go and house-sit for Bags as she was expecting a delivery of something.
When we arrived the sun was shining and the dandelions were looking good, so I got down to take some pictures of them. While I was down there I became award of some unusual activity from one of the visitors so I turned the camera on it and noticed that it was missing a wing which was preventing it flying and causing its unusual behaviour.
(Pictures of the dandelions are here).
Mid afternoon we went and had a cuppa with H (Mrs H is in Milan for work).
H has asked me if I can make some 'counters' to replace ones missing from a Backgammon set that was his fathers.
It theory is is quite easy - but in practice it is going to be rather difficult. The first problem will be trying to source woods to match the rest of the pieces. The next one will be matching the subtle differences in the 'patterns' cut into the counters.
When we got home there was some more garage sorting and cleaning.
Our Polish neighbour had a quick chat and arranged to come round later to sort the end cap on one my my gutter which had come loose (I don't do ladders!!!).
True to his word he turned up with (with our Lebanese neighbours long ladder) and fixed the end plate in no time at all. In return I am going to give him a couple of our kitchen wall cupboards for his garage.
Fair's fair after all.
EDIT .... there was a surprise sunset -- shown in the extras
