Now, as I see it......

Walking on Sunshine

Warm and sunny again; lovely for April.  We drove over to Weybourne and did the walk along the cliff top to Sheringham.  The sea was as flat and calm as I have ever seen it, and the sound of the waves lapping against the shore was more reminiscent of a cove on a Greek island than a north facing North Sea beach.  We were surrounded by the Sand Martins feeding off the abundance of flies, and the sound of Skylarks followed us most of the way.  The honeyed coconut smell of the gorse was lovely and there was a hint of the hawthorn blossom coming out; a superb fragrance that is part of the reason May is my favourite month.

On arrival in Sheringham we had a Ronaldos ice cream (Biscoff for me, the excellent Norfolk Blackcurrant Swirl for W) alongside the throng of holidaymakers that seem to have arrived already, before getting the Coasthopper bus back to Weybourne to collect the car.  Four miles walk in total, and whilst the weather is going to get cooler again, it was nice to get a feel that summer isn't too far away.
