Another for the record
I spent the morning at the allotment making sure it was in a tidy state for the next couple of weeks. Mowed and edged the beds, pulled out all the marestail and tied up the broad beans.
No interest yet in partnering with me over the next 12 months.
Meanwhile Susan was compiling a detailed list of what we’re taking on Sunday and began gathering them together to add to the existing piles around the house. Went to the car wash to make it presentable for the journey north after moving all the garden waste in it recently. Only two more sleeps til the big adventure begins.
In the afternoon we went to buy more supplies, calling in at the allotment to net the strawberries which are now flowering.
In local election news, probably one of the greatest shocks ever in Kent when the ruling Conservative council was annihilated by Reform. The Tories held 57 seats in the last Council. Now they have 5. Reform had no seats, now they have 57 and control of the Council.
Whatever you may think of Reform, they are sending a pretty powerful message to the two main parties. It’ll be interesting to see how they perform in discharging their duties.
