...at Wallsend station...

We caught the metro to Newcastle this aft, but got off at Wallsend as our train was terminating two stops further on, for some reason.

The signs have always made me smile - Wallsend, aka Segedunum - was a fort at the end of the Roman wall, so the signs imitate Latin words and phrases ;)

Just time to bag my blip - in the spirit of Geordie signs - before the following train picked us up.

Managed to find a new bike saddle in Toon, so fingers crossed it's more comfortable than my  present one!

Got off the Metro a stop early on the way back, so we finished the afternoon with a windy walk back from Cullercoats.
