I spent a bit of time this morning sitting in the front garden admiring the gate... it’s nice to have it back.
Archie and I decided to go down and investigate a cafe in town. Someone connected to it, has started to follow archiemarchmont on Instagram. He only has about a dozen followers, so any random new ones, are quite noticeable. Besides, I'm always keen to find new cafes.
I accidentally ordered a 'cruffin'... croissant pastry in a muffin tin. But inside it was a huge wad of caramel... I thought cruffins were plain! Now, I'm not averse to a bit of caramel, when it's expected, but not when it's a surprise.
We saw that the re-laying of the setts down the Lawnmarket is a slow process, but it's looking good. I do hope they'll re-do Victoria Street next, the beautiful old setts have just been plastered over (many years ago) with unsightly blobs of black tarmacadam. On such a popular and scenic touristy street, it's a disgrace.
I couldn't be bothered struggling up the Vennel Steps, so we walked round by the Art College and straight over the Meadows. (5,399 steps).
JR went for coffees with her gym buddies after the session. She took Archie out for another walk in the afternoon. I watched a bit of the WSL (women's football).
