Lucy Mangan
Bathroom Chris put the final coat of sealant on and will put something round the gap between the side of the bath and the wood on the side of the cupboard. We can’t go in for a couple of days which is a pest as I have the veggie food group here for pooled lunch tomorrow.
I met a crowd of women for lunch at the Anglers’ Arms. We had to pre-order so I went for Pak Choi, pear and walnut salad with a side of chips. It was disappointing as the salad was some leaves, 5 minute slivers of pear and 4 walnuts and a few very tiny slices of the core of the Pak Choi. It was all totally tasteless and cost £8. Poor choice on my part as those who had seafood enjoyed it. Still I was lucky enough to sit with Vivienne and Alison who had been in Madrid during the big power outage. Mainly we talked about art, TV, podcasts and books. Oh and food.
When I got home I continued to read the Lucy Mangan book. I do love a book about books and I’m specially keen on her as we share the same taste in many. (Though most of what she’s read I’ve not heard of).
Marian has chosen Experience by Martin Amis, a memoir. I even managed to find it in my library. It’s so long since I read it I’ll have to re-read it.
Now we need to buy some testers for door paint. It needs to be white with a very slight hint of grey to look ok with the floor tiles.
Blurb have a 40% offer on so I uploaded the Vienna book. I’m pleased it will arrive in time to send to Jenny for her birthday
