More than last year ?

I had three tiny gooseberries from my five bushes last year. The previous year I’d managed just double figures. My friend’s son had several pies worth. I wondered what I did wrong (or was it just a bad year ?)

I planted four of the five bushes in the flower bed. They seemed to settle well among the daffodils and now among the forget me nots. They are vanishing under the geraniums, but as I looked, I saw a couple of emerging gooseberries.

Dare I hope ?

Extra: my cheeky, and now naughty, blackbird has started to peck at some of my small pots……I’m happy for him to use the bird bath, but there are limits to my hospitality…..
