Blue Springs

We walked to the Blue Springs on the Te Waihou river. This river is full of springs which makes the water crystal clear. The water from the Blue Spring is the source of the household water for the town near us.  It is also used by 3 bottling plants including "Pump" which is owned by Coca- Cola.  The river water is so clear you can see the trout swimming in the current.
We were given the trout by a fisherman we talked to who said he didn't need it because he catches lots of them.  We smoked it.  Unfortunately the smoker is very old and so was the sawdust used to smoke it which produced a lot more smoke than we needed but the fish tasted really good.
