Bourton on the water

We left the van on site and took the bus into the village of Bourton on the water, (a bus being a new experience for Bertie). It’s a very picturesque place with these low stone bridges crossing the crystal-clear water of the River Windrush which flows through the middle of the village. Each bridge had knitted and crocheted poppies stung along them or at either side. All part of the VE Day celebrations. The buildings are built from honey-coloured Cotswold stone which adds to the attraction of the place. We visited the Motor Museum which I highly recommend because there is so much to see, with a huge display of motorised vehicles through the ages, presented in a very interesting way.
