Wood Sandpiper - Frampton Marshes

I had to make the most of my unexpected visit to Lincolnshire.

After a morning watching Dragon Boat racing on the River Witham in Boston and a lovely Sunday lunch, we went down Frampton Marshes for a few hours. I was so glad we did. Quite a decent couple of hours birding, including this lovely, and quite scarce Wood Sandpiper. There we also a couple of Little Stints to boost the life list, and an obliging Marsh Harrier quartered the fields at the back of the reserve. The 360 hide was surrounded by Black-Tailed Godwits, which all got spooked at one point. Dawn spotted a Snipe rooting around the waters edge. It was one of those days!

Going home tomorrow ... suppose to happen sooner or later!
