Sally Mair - Loving life

Payback Day

We had the little girls today as Ali had to do a payback day for her jobshare person. Due to public holidays etc she owed her 6 hours so today went in to work.
I took J to gymnastics in the morning which she was very happy about. I watched our fearless the year old hanging from a bar above head height and turning a backwards somersault through her arms to dismount with no assistance! No idea what you call it but was very impressed. All three of the older girls are very limber as was I in my day and their mums too. As you can see from the collage, J had a chocolate biscuit on the way home, lol.
We got back home in time for lunch then B went for her nap. Josie and I made Bluey cupcakes but put red food colouring in the buttercream topping. It may have been colouring free before, but it was rather dull.
I went to the podiatrist later to try to find out what if going on with my ankle and knee - I assumed they were related. Interesting. It turns out that my right leg is substantially shorter than my left - why have I never known that? I have also done something to upset things and I have Peroneal Tendinitis, which will apparently resolve and is the main reason for the pain. I made my way back up the hill with a very small heel lift in my right shoe to see if that helps any and a recommendation to change all my shoes (gradually) . Not to wear flat shoes and always to have a strap or back to my shoes and slippers, oh, and not to go barefoot around the house and garden!
When I got home I had 30 minutes before I had to be at an area council meeting to discuss the process of appointing the next Bishop of Edinburgh. It was an interesting meeting and I'd forgotten how many people I know, or know me, around the Diocese. At least we won't all be locked into a room until we come up with a decision when the election takes place in February.
That was Wednesday.
