I got a bus to Chapel Stile and met blipper ‘wrencottage’ at Brambles Cafe for morning refreshments.

We then wandered to Elterwater via the former slate quarry with its views to the Langdale Pikes. There’s an application in to turn the site into a visitor attraction (with zip wire) which is currently the subject of a judicial review. I was surprised how much the buildings have deteriorated since I was last here.

An enjoyable morning but unfortunately with none of the sunshine we’ve enjoyed for several weeks.
