Thursday: Peeping Through

I was supposed to be meeting an old friend of mine for brunch.  M flew in from the US, where she lives, this morning.  Given K’s immunity issues I had asked her to let me know if she’d been exposed to any illnesses as that could affect things. 

She suggested we cancel.  She has young grandchildren and had been with them a few days ago.  In her words, they are real ‘germ carriers’ and she is constantly getting sick from them.  We can’t really risk it at the moment as we’ve been told we need to adopt a COVID approach until K’s immunity starts to recover.  Also, being with someone who had just stepped off a long-haul flight might have been injudicious.  Never mind, we’ll make alternative plans at some point.  But, on reflection, cancelling made sense.

We spent the day catching up on a whole load of jobs, such as tidying up the garden, spring cleaning the car etc.
