Another right good read ?

After reading The Mistletoe Murders ten days or so ago, I ordered the second collection of short stories by the renowned UK author. It came today.

Still working but feeling rough on and off. More later..
(I had to watch the end of an episode of Bad Sisters. Oh dear).

Indie the cat brought a mouse in, in her mouth. It seemed to be wrapped in a leaf. Unfortunately I reacted with a surprised squawk, so she ran into the bedroom, it escaped, but she caught it again and ran into the bathroom with it. I shut the door. What was I thinking?

When we went up to have a look, Indie was staring at the boxed-in pipe network intently, and the mouse was nowhere to be seen. It’s probably far, far away by now but I hope it doesn’t die in an inaccessible part of house. We covered the air bricks with mouse mesh last year, and left some poison in the attic, after an invasion of mice with tackety boots threatened our sanity.
