Sunset at Ashton Gate

Bristol City were in the playoffs (a small knockout competition to win a place in the Premier League next season). My son came up from Plymouth, and his good friend F came down from London. My neighbour opposite, S, also came.
Everyone was at the ground early- there was live music and such excitement and optimism. When the team came out of the tunnel, I’ve never heard such a loud roaring and cheering.
But Sheffield United are a better team. At the end of the first half it was still about even, when the referee sent off a City centre half and gave Sheffield a penalty. I thought it was unfair but my son felt it was justified. Anyhow, there wasn’t much chance after that, and Sheffield won 3 nil. So everyone left feeling very deflated and sad. Try again next season:-)
