Route 487.
We had forgotten what a joy driving used to be!
However on a perfect sunny day, not too hot, we enjoyed a wonderful drive along the A 487 from Barmouth to Fishguard. Almost had the road to ourselves, and an excellent road surface too.
You just have to watch the speed limit as it goes down to 20 through the villages.
The first half through steep sided valleys. Woods full of bluebells and fields full of sheep with their little lambs.
The trees were so fresh and green.
Wasn’t there a film or TV programme called
‘ How Green was my Valley”?
We stopped at Aberystwyth, half way, for a walk along the promenade, where we had morning coffee overlooking the bay.
What a lovely town. ( see extra)
The next part of the route was following the coast with views of the sea. Not that I could see much as that was my half to drive.
Everywhere is very quiet. Just as we like it.
Stopped at Fishguard for a few provisions before we found our cottage.
Just a couple of miles from the town. MrC not too happy with the track to it, but loves the position now we are here.
A pigsty!
Very tastefully converted.
Perfect peace. Just the sound of birds.
Lovely views all round of the rolling hills.
Once we get the TV to work we will both be very happy here for a week!
