Life through the lens...

By ValC

Fishguard, Pembrokeshire.

The Last invasion of Britain in 1797 took place just 3 miles west of here.
A French force, led by an American Colonel Tate, consisting of 600 regulars and 800 convict troops, eventually surrendered.
The event is told in a 100ft long tapestry.
( Hopefully to be blipped later )

The main blip is of Lower Fishguard Harbour, where in 1954 they filmed the famous film, Moby Dick staring Gregory Peck.
Later in 1971 Under Milk Wood, staring Richard Burton was also filmed here in this tiny unspoilt place.

Later we drive to Newport and had lunch by the beach at The Cat Rock Cafe.
After which we walked along the coastal path by the River Nevern. What a beautiful area.
Just can’t get over how peaceful it is everywhere.
Does remind us a lot of Cornwall but without the crowds.

Another beautiful day.
