Spring at Pensthorpe
I got to the recycling centre outside of Fakenham about 10 mins before my slot - there were no other customers there. The guy at the entrance complained that I had bought waste other than the hazardous waste that the day was for - I said the council had told me it was ok - he moaned again and then said I could dispose of it all this time. No worries leaving all three old fire extinguishers. As I was leaving one other car arrived. There must have been 10 guys waiting to help there, very weird process. I was too early for Pensthorpe, so I went into B&Q and bought a couple of plastic storage boxes. It was a beautiful day by the time I arrived at Pensthorpe. The flamingos were hiding behind the trees in the shade, but there were a couple of egyptian geese with their eight goslings in the enclosure, which were a delight to watch and photograph. On one of the lakes I saw three pairs of canada geese with goslings, two had several but the other only had one. I also saw a duck with ducklings, but couldn't get a clear photo. This afternoon I enjoyed sitting and reading in the sun. Later I watered the tubs in the front garden and took the hose to the side garden. Unfortunately I noticed tonight that one of the hatchlings in my camera bird box has died, there was one egg that hatched late and I suspect that was the one as the other hatchlings were bigger.
