Chambers Wood

Brian was in work this morning so I had a steady start to the day with a few small jobs around the house.

Once he was home we had some lunch and then decided to have a drive to Chambers Wood for the first time in a while. It's been a warm and sunny day, perfect conditions for the Marsh Fritillary butterflies we hoped to see.

We were not disappointed: the meadow was absolutely aflutter with them everywhere we looked. We went there last year around this time and didn't see any, so it was wonderful to see hordes of them this time.

They seemed to like me and a couple of times one even settled on me - see extra!

We are going to watch the semi finals of the Rugby League Challenge Cup - we set it to record! We are neutrals for both games, though I really would like Catalan dragons to beat Hull KR!
