Hot, hot, hot
Hot for us anyway. Usual Saturday morning visit to the pier for fresh fish and a flying visit to the library. Then back home to pack as I've been trying to get ready for setting off tomorrow for Ireland - Daughter One and I are catching the 7.45am bus from Oban to Glasgow. Looking forward to meeting the Irish people!
Always things which need doing before you go away - I've potted the rest of my young runner bean plants and put tall canes in the pots, though they won't be growing much in a week! I've also soaked and sown a couple of varieties of sweet pea in the hope that they'll germinate before I get home.
Finally packed, I hope, and I drove down to the terminal to pick up our daughter. She was being delivered by the Chugging Bathtub - here she is framed in the metalwork of the pier, the Bathtub that is, not my daughter!
Quote of the Day: ‘If it was raining soup the Irish would go out with forks.’ -
Brendan Behan.
