Looking for lunch

He was so intent on his prey that even Leo and I walking by (pretty close) didn't distract him!  Mr KCNQ2Haiku had taken Ben out for a morning coffee so that I could have a bit of a break, Leo and I came to the woods but it was still quite early so it was pretty fresh under the trees which led me to brave the open air by the river.  I also had a nice catch up with my mum as we've been missing each other all week, with one thing or another.
What else?? Mr KCNQ2Haiku is up in the North Pennines solo as he's doing a big sportif cycling thing in the lakes tomorrow and he wanted to be closer to the start line, I decided not to travel with Ben as he's been a bit unpredictable and there will be some uncertainty around timings tomorrow and I'm not sure he'll handle it.  I think that was probably for the best as honestly he's had a pretty shocking day, he's so quick to react at the moment and he has this sore finger which he persistently rips the bandage off and then screams when he knocks it on something :-/ Sigh.
The weather's been lovely though, really summery but not too hot, so Ben has still bounced on the trampoline and Leo has pottered in and out of the house and our lovely neighbours across the road braved a Sainsburys shop and came back with ice cream to share :-D  Ben and I had made fairy cakes, so we did a swap for some ice cream and decided that we would survive very well in a barter economy (as long as nobody needed us to build shelters or perform farming tasks in any way at all).  I'm basically Apocalypse Ready now :-)
