For the family

Another old photo

This would have been taken in about 1948. My mum worked full time and I went to a council run day nursery in Stanwix, Carlisle. We look a random little bunch of kids, but I remember those days as being happy and loved. As an only child I would have been lonely and under stimulated at home. A pin indicates me in the picture, with my big bow in my hair. I look happy.

This morning B had a follow up appointment at a local private hospital that provides services for the NHS. We enlisted R’s help to discover what info we had received from the services, it was in bits on his NHS App on his mobile phone, nothing comprehensive. She compiled a report which we shared with the consultant. I thought he might have been a bit ‘funny’ about it, but he was very complimentary and thanked us for what we had done. It helped enormously and hopefully we can make progress.

On the way home I noticed a signpost to MOD Stafford. It rang bells as my Dad used to attend meetings there from his job with the MOD in Worcestershire in the 1960’s until he died in 1973. He was only in his late 50’s. It was two years after B and I married, but before R was born, a long time ago. She never met him unfortunately.

We had a visitor late afternoon from the chap from Help the Heroes to collect a parcel of Super Hero Teds and Positive Potatoes. There is an event on tomorrow afternoon in Cheadle celebrating VE Day. We have been invited!!!!

A bit late going to bed as I’m trying to finish another Super Ted for tomorrow.
