The accidental finding

Truly Uley

V and I drove up to a pretty village called Uley, near Dursley. It’s her birthday, and early in the week she’d traded in her old car for a snazzy turquoise Mazda convertible. It’s very sporty-looking. I kept my practical, puritanical thoughts to myself.

We were headed to the Vestry Cafe at Prema arts centre, housed in a former Bethesda chapel. We had an excellent lunch outside in the garden/graveyard, dotted with tables and chairs. In the picture above you can just see V at the back on the right.

Extra: me lying among the butterflies on the Millennium Green. Truly it was a beautiful afternoon, and the fact that I’ve been resting ever since I got back is part of it.
