Celebrating the Matriarch
We set aside the day for our mother. Hubby and I met my sister Cindy and BIL at a park and ride. We picked up our mother and started her day. We dropped her gifts and their dinner off when we arrived. My BIL Roger had prostate cancer years ago. They removed the cancerous organ but somehow the cancer has returned. He must undergo radiation daily and then a series of chemo. They will be away from home for hours every day. My sister Barbara asked if we could take Momma. Of course we will and my other sister will help as well. We took Momma to a seafood restaurant that we’d never been to. The food was tasty and plentiful. A guest took the bottom photo of all of us. From there, we went to a nearby distillery/winery that was having a SpringFest. Jamie took me there last year when hubby was out of pocket. Jamie, Kim and their families except for Mancil and Parker were all there. Lauren and Billy brought their children as well. Kristen was helping a friend move. See photo on top right. Renee provided a tent and blanket so everyone would be out of the sun. The music was fun. There were artisan tents set up around the perimeter. We shopped and left with a few packages. Hubby bought me earrings made by Parker’s girlfriend. She had a nice display. Momma loved being with everyone. We bought her ice cream. Isla decided she wanted my small dish of creamsicle more than her pizza so I had a few bites and fed her the rest. Less calories for me. We stayed much longer than I thought Momma would want. It was a great day. I thought it only fitting to include our matriarch in the top left photo and her youngest great-great grandson from my family in the bottom right photo to round out the collage. We are home after a long day on the road. I planted a pepper and tomato seedling from my sister; my garden is complete. Wishing you a successful completion of a project. Stay safe. Thanks for visiting. “My family - (my mother), my husband, my daughters (and son), my grandchildren, my great-grandchildren, all of them - are the most important thing in the world to me.” -
