Cotton grass
Phew what a hot day! I am trying to get my seedlings planted outside, but the ground is really too dry and hard. Rob managed to bore a hole big enough to plant an Acer, and we added lots of farmyard manure to hold some moisture. It will certainly need regular watering.
The afternoon was one of our beekeeping meetings, just up the road from us. We all sweltered in our coveralls!
Then we took the moth traps to Roudsea, and it was a pleasant evening for a walk on the mosses. The cotton grass is in full flower and looking delightful.
I gave my latest cheese it’s final turn and press this evening, and tomorrow it will start to air dry and form a rind….that’s what the instructions say so it will be interesting to watch. Unfortunately I used too small a batch of curd so it’s going’s to be very thin!
