Lion Gate
We had a meeting in Darmstadt with the eldest son and family in the Hofgut Oberfeld, with a walk around the Oberfeld and the Park Rosenhöhe.
The Oberfeld is an area with forest and fields, meant for the inhabitants of Darmstadt (centuries ago mainly small farmers).
The Rosenhöhe is a protected cultural asset, a stroll through it is part of a visit to Darmstadt.
I pictured the entrance to the Rosenhöhe, the so-called Lion Gate. The lions are also called sneezing hedgehogs. The gate is from 1914. The modern statue in front of it is much younger (I have no idea who made it).
