Autumn colour
Most of the trees and bushes Chez M&B are natives and therefore don't lose their leaves in autumn. However, just outside the kitchen window there are two cotoneasters which turn a stunning variety of shades of red and burgundy at this time of year.
I have been enjoying their increasingly impressive display for a week or so now. I think they are at about peak autumn today.
Somehow I have spent almost all of the day in said kitchen.
I have mixed and proved sourdough loaves; made a parmentier de potimarron using my fantastic veggie French cookbook; concocted a big container of soup using the excess ingredients plus a few more from the garden; pasteurised a churn of milk; and salted Saturday's Camemberts and put them on a rack to air dry for the day.
Beanio took me for a lovely hour+ walk at lunchtime and we bumped into a neighbour with whom I had a long catch up. Both of us have been ill since our last chat, so much of it was health-related.
Thank you for the positive comments about yesterday's arty Blip. Somehow I haven't had the time to progress them today...
