Peonies

MY BLIP:  These lovely Peonies were given to me by a neighbour yesterday as a thank you for a good deed done.  (Actually they were given to her, but as she doesn’t like cut flowers in the house, I ended up the lucky recipient!). A is a year older than me, old!  She told me she had fallen asleep in her chair, woken up to find that one of her feet had gone to sleep.  Stupidly (she said) I got up and promptly fell over on to the wooden arm of the chair.  Her ribs and ankle hurt a lot, but nothing broken (she said).  HareBrain to the rescue with the wonder bruise medication of Arnica.   Today I’m  glad to say A is feeling much improved, but I’m keeping my eye on her.
 
MY DAY:  The Dentist rang first thing to tell me the Dental Hygienist had phoned in sick so my appointment had to be rescheduled for next week, that’s ok.
HB is not having a good one and I left him in bed with tea and sympathy and drove to the carpet shop in Newcastle under Lyme who will be delivering our new bedroom carpets next week.  I have a carpet remnant from our sitting room carpet we had a couple of years ago and which I would like to be bound.  Why didn’t I take it when we went to choose the bedroom carpets a few weeks ago??  Hare-Brain to the fore! Anyway the nice carpet people said they would do their best to bring it with them when they come to fit the other carpets next week.

On my journey to Newcastle I followed a little P plated Fiat 500.  He/she drove perfectly all the way and I loved the sign in the back window ‘I have a black box fitted and believe me I’m just as annoyed as you are!’

Once home I watered the garden thoroughly.  Later we had thunder and just a little rain.
