Pinks
Oh my. Call us gluttons for punishment. Hubby had a few errands early this morning. He returned two Amazon orders. I had breakfast on the porch. When he returned, we began our incredible day in our flower gardens. We had to bring all the pots from the basement to the front porch. Hubby also put a bunch of sand bags on a pallet by our compost pile. We rearranged my house plants and cleaned that part of the basement. Then I got to work on my annuals. Everything is planted! I had to scrub flower pots, replace the potting soil, etc. Hubby helped me before and after cutting the lawn. We dug up a dead shrub and trimmed dead branches off another one. My sister gave me a dozen old fashioned hollyhocks from our mother’s garden. They are in the ground. These pinks are certainly showcasing at the moment. I have 16,500 steps and my knees and heel felt every one. But everything looks so nice. The pains are worth it. When we get back home after our TN/WV trip at the end of May, we will finish trimming and weeding the formal garden. Then we can sit back and enjoy all the colors. The shower felt great but I could have enjoyed a nice soak in the jacuzzi tub. We missed lunch and I’m too beat to even think about cooking. As much as I’d love to sit on this recliner all evening, Parker’s team has their championship lacrosse game at 6:30. I have to change clothes and get in the car. No rest for the weary. Wishing you a bit of rest. Stay safe. Thanks for your visit.
