Mr Sparrow (& First Fire)

A constructive day - yay!

Purchased new electric blanket after I found my old one (not all that old really) was mal-functioning.  I figured it would be simpler just to buy a new one than have someone see if they could repair it only to find it couldn't be done which would probably have cost a significant proportion of what a new one cost anyway (in a today-only Farmers sale!)

Dropped in to SPCA on way home to make enquiries about becoming a foster mum for them.  I'm not ready to have a new feline-forever-friend yet but I am missing having feline interaction.  Becoming a foster mum seems like a good way of helping the SPCA, giving some local kits/cats a warm, comfortable and loving home for a while and getting my kitty-fix too.  Process to become a foster mum seems quite a bit more involved than I imagined it would be.

Mowed lawns this afternoon despite them still being a bit damp - put mower away thinking that might be the last mow for a few weeks.  We'll see.

Put more of my winter bird-feeding station up, with a mind of course to what should face which way if I want to photograph them!  I'm even considering putting up some sort of 'hide' attached to the house so I can sneak out and not disturb them!  Again.....we'll see.

Treated myself to the first of the season's fires tonight (extra) and it's lovely.  And with that act, I now have to acknowledge that winter is all but here.
