A Lovely Automotive Day

My daughter's track Honda S2000 has been SORNed in one of the Nissen huts. She had arranged for RJ's to collect it today for MOT and any necessary work. I put it on charge yesterday and scraped the remains of the track stickers off the windscreen as we'd been warned it wouldn't pass the MOT with them in place.

We spent a pleasant morning catching up about her weekend away in Cologne. RJ's 'boys' arrived after lunch and took SAZ to the garage on a flatbed.

My daughter went home and I resumed gradually going through MrQ's 'stuff' in her former bedroom. There's some important paperwork that I'm looking for but it's jumbled up with all his sheet music, cassette tapes, videos, CDs and DVDs.

What a thrill when I found the CD (extras) of her singing the song we adapted from Pulp's Disco 2000 (Let's All Meet Up In Our S2000s) which she sang at the presentation dinner at the Honda S2000 Euromeet in Trentino in 2009. I'd forgotten what a beautiful voice she has. It had me in floods of tears. We had only discussed this morning that we thought that the recording was lost. 

She and I got quite a bit of stick from some of the car club members over the song but Shigeru Uehara San, the chief designer of the S2000, loved it. Don't know what's happened to those detractors but we're still staunch S2000 enthusiasts.
