Hanging On In There

This is one of the parent blue tits on my other bird box with a nest. They've not been happy with me today as I was working next to the bird box in the greenhouse, cleaning the section that was covered by the wooden staging, Then the parcel arrived with the new table and I set that up and rearranged a few things, all of which meant they didn't want to bring grubs for the chicks whilst I was there. I did make sure I only was working for half an hour or so at a time, to give them a chance to bring the food in. This one repaid me later on by posing for a photo clinging to the entry hole on the front of the box. It's looking quite weary, I think these chicks are ahead of the ones in the camera bird box, based on when I first saw food being bought it. In which case, they might be only a few days away from fledging. My temporary fix on the camera bird box is holding so far, and eight hungry chicks are at their cutest at the moment. Fingers crossed it holds for another week. It was cloudy here all day and chilly, so I also washed my car this afternoon, which was covered in pollen and blossom. It must be over a decade since I've seen so many bugs on the front of the car.
