How to enjoy your garden
This afternoon I did something I have not done in May- sat in the garden enjoying the sunshine and reading.
Why? Because this is the first year for over 10 years, we have not done Open Gardens. (For a variety of reasons we all agreed to have a year off).
Bliss!
The weeks before are hectic as the garden is prepped in readiness for visitors though folk said they liked our garden because it was informal i.e untidy and it made them feel at home. They never saw it before the great clean-up.
Our local minister once remarked that the purpose of a garden is enjoyment and we should just relax and sit in it.
Easier said than done when you know a few hundred people , OK about 150 on a good year , will come trooping through and they are all garden aficionados.
