A Family of Crab Fishers

Nana and Papa came to visit us at the seaside today. It's a long way to come for a day but it was lovely to see them and they had a wonderful time.
We went to the beach first thing with everyone while Nana and Papa had tea and cake on the pier. There were lots more sandy sandwiches, paddling, hole digging, sand castle building, and some wonderful pebble art by Mrs Z and me!!
There was also lots of naked running, jumping and rolling around by all the children who thought it was the funniest thing in the world to strip off!
The others headed off to climb the lighthouse and we went crab fishing with Nana and Papa.
First of all on the Southwold side then we got the ferry over to the Walberswick side. It's a five minute boat ride over the estuary or an eight mile car journey! We like the ride in the rowing boat.
We caught lots of crabs and had lots of crab races. Fantastic!
Then it was to the arcade on the pier for some more fun and games on the slot machines. Miss E enjoyed herself a bit more. She even said to me that she didn't mind not winning all the coins and all the prizes: "it's just fun Mummy!"
My mum and dad came back to the house for a bit which was nice. They had some food and watched the chaos of the kids playing badminton and running round the garden shooting each other!
Another great day!!
