May Magic: Hummingbirds and Rhododendrons

The month of May brings some fine pairings. We've had rain for days, or at least big-time thunderstorms. And so everything is green, and flowers are popping out all over. The huge pink blooms have come to the rhododendrons, and they shine out like big pink lamps. These out behind our house are just starting to open; I'll try for more shots like this one once they are.

The hummingbirds have been back since late April, and we have two that I've been keeping an eye on. There is a tiny male with a ruby throat who zips over to the feeder and quickly zips away. He's tough to photograph, as you might imagine. And then there is this little girl, who likes to sit and stay. :-)
