Last leg
We took the bus into the Belfast city centre this morning and sat in the sun outside the City Hall - my Blip today. We then bussed up to the dock and caught the ferry back to Cairnryan. A nice calm crossing and warm enough the spend the journey out on deck.
Once at Cairnryan we took the bus to Ayr to connect with the train to Glasgow Central. What a difference after the spotless trains of Ireland - this train was littered with rubbish everywhere. Over the tables and all over the floor! Bottles and carry-outs, crisps and other food. The rubbish bins were overflowing too. On the Irish trains someone was constantly patrolling the train with a litter bag. When we arrived in Glasgow the platform staff were particularly abrupt after the thoughtful and friendly Irish train staff - we could learn a lot from Ireland!
We then walked to Glasgow Queen Street where Daughter One caught the train to Edinburgh where she'll be staying for a couple of days and I settled down to wait an hour and a half for the Oban train!
So here ends our Irish interlude - a wonderful time and lots of happy memories!
