This tree limb caught my attention while walking at De Soto Memorial in Bradenton. I've seen driftwood with holes in it like this before, but I did not know what made them. After a little research I learned about seaworms or shipworms, eww! They are actually a clam, not a worm -they just look like one! I've added a wider view of the tree limb in the extras, as well as a photo of a lovely Snowy Egret.

The walking paths at De Soto reopened earlier this year after being closed for about 4 months because of damage from Hurricanes Helene and Milton. The Visitor Center is still not open. It received extensive flooding and has not been able to be repaired yet. As we were walking today we could still see the damage from those storms last year... Many of the trees and bushes were blown over and I noticed lots of bare branches where there should be leaves. But, we are grateful to be able to walk there again. The Rehabilitation facility where Mom is right now is near De Soto, so we decided to go there for our walk today.
